Emmy congratulations!

ASGM congratulates HBO and the producers and directors of “Temple Grandin” on their seven Emmy wins, including best made-for-television movie. “Temple Grandin” is based on the real life story of Temple Grandin, Ph.D., a highly accomplished adult with autism. Dr. Grandin, who did not talk until almost four years old, now travels the world to share her story and advocate for all individuals on the spectrum. Also an expert in animal science, Dr. Grandin has developed innovative methods for more humane livestock handling. Dr. Grandin, who celebrated her birthday yesterday, was in the audience at the Emmy awards.

To add to these honors, Time magazine has announced it has listed Dr. Temple Grandin in the 2010 TIME 100, the magazine’s annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world!

“Temple Grandin” is available on DVD and is still running on HBO.
